Aloo Gobi, it is also known as Alu Gobi. It is a dry Pakistani, Indian and Nepali Cuisine that made with potatoes and cauliflower. The color of this dish is yellow because of turmeric and occasionally it has contains kalonji and/or curry leaves. If you are interested in this recipe here are the ingredients.
2 tbsp. vegetable oil
1 tsp. Black mustard seeds
1 teaspoon cumin – whole seeds
3 whole cloves
2 tsp. Garam masala or curry powder
1/4 tsp. Ground turmeric
3 cloves garlic grated
1.25 centimeters ginger – fresh grated
2 medium onions minced
1 tsp. Salt
3 medium Yukon gold potatoes cut into ½
1 small head cauliflower cut into bite-sized pieces
1/2 cup water
2 tsp. honey
1 tbsp. lemon juice
cilantro or scallions for garnish
In a heat pan, add oil, mustard, cumin, garam masala, cloves and turmeric and be careful not to burn them.
Reduce the heat and add the garlic, onion, ginger and salt.
Do not burn them also.
Add potatoes, cauliflower and some water, after simmer add honey.
Cover and cook the vegetables for about 40 minutes until tender.
Stir occasionally and add water if it is dry.
When potatoes and cauliflower are cooked, remove the lid and simmer.
Add lemon juice.
Serve (garnish with cilantro or scallions)
