Isn’t it hard to pronounce Prinzregententorte? This cake is from Uruguay, a flavourful cake created with a recipe of cocoa and milk that will surely make your day brighter.

This time, I will post the popular cakes, delicacies and sweets of all time in different countries. It will surely make your day fun and creative by making a lot of sweets and since it is the first cake I will post, I will make it from Uruguay.

Prinzregententorte it is a Bavarian torte that consisting at least six to seven thin layers of sponge cake that interlaid with chocolate or vanilla and a jam at the very last of the layer.

This sweet came from Germany, Bavaria to be specific. The origin of this cake is named after Prince Regent Luitpold, a prince of Bavaria beginning in 1886. The typical outside cake is covered with dark chocolate and you will be surprise when you cut it, a thin layer sponge cake that baked to perfection.

We all know it is hard to bake Prinzregententorte because of the procedure by making layers of the cake, but still we want the ingredients so that we can create this dish at home. Here are the ingredients.



INGREDIENTS:

FOR CAKE

1 cup butter, plus
2 tbsp. butter
1 cup sugar, plus
2 tbsp. sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
1 3⁄4 cups all-purpose flour
1⁄2 cup corn starch
1 tsp. baking powder

FOR FILLING

1⁄4 cup unsweetened cocoa
1⁄2 cup corn starch
2⁄3 cup sugar
2 1⁄2 cups milk
1⁄2 cup salted butter, plus
2 tbsp. salted butter
1⁄2 cup unsalted butter, plus
2 tbsp. unsalted butter
1⁄4 cup unsweetened cocoa
1⁄2 cup corn starch
2⁄3 cup sugar
2 1⁄2 cups milk
1⁄2 cup salted butter, plus
2 tbsp. salted butter
1⁄2 cup unsalted butter, plus
2 tbsp. unsalted butter

FOR FROSTING

12 -14 ounces semisweet chocolate
Whipped cream
Chocolate shavings

DIRECTION:

In a baking sheet, cut 8pcs. (8-inch) rounds from wax or parchment paper, greased.
To make the cake: Cream together 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons butter and 1 cup plus 2 tablespoon sugar.
Beat the egg completely one at a time and stir with vanilla extract.
Sift together and add flour, corn starch and baking powder.
Divide it into 8 and spread thinly.
Bake 375°F for about 7 minutes.
Remove each batch carefully not to break and let it cool.
When it is cold, join together with the fillings.
Chill and cover with chocolate which is melted over hot water.
Decorate with rosettes of whipped cream and chocolate shavings.
To make the filling: In a mixing bowl, put cocoa, corn starch and sugar and add some milk.
Bring to boil the remaining milk and add the corn starch mixture.
Stir continuously.
Set aside and let it warm.
Have the butter softened and mix them together.
Beat the mixture until it is creamy.
Gradually whip into corn starch cream.
Allow to cool before using the mixture.

The process of your cooking time will take for about 27 to 30 minutes, it is really fast but we have to watch our baking process, never over cooked the sponge cake.

This is best with family and friends to share. Remember, it is not considered as Prinzregententorte when the layer of the cake is lacking. Try this at your home and rest assure that you will get your satisfaction. Happy eating!!!
