Bento, it is a single-portion takeout or home-packed meal that is common in Japan. The traditional Bento holds rice, fish or meat with some pickled or cooked vegetables in each box-shaped container.
Bento is very popular and available throughout Japan, convenient stores, bento shops, railways station and department stores are some who offers a lot of bento.
I know you want to know the taste inside the Bento Box, I have here one of the version of Bento Recipe and here are the ingredients.
Note: Every recipe is prepared for a single serving
A piece of Salmon
Cook the Japanese Rice and set aside.
Grill or fry the salmon and set aside with paper towel at the bottom to absorb the excess oil if fried.
In a small bowl, pour egg and dip green pepper, eggplant, potato and fry using the same oil used in the salmon.
Slice carrots into julienne and fry, set aside (do not dip in egg).
Do not overcook the vegetables and set it aside as well.
Fry tofu until golden brown.
In other pan, boil water and add soy sauce and sugar, let it cook until it is thick.
In a medium size Bento Box, place Japanese Rice in a big box-shaped container and drop few picked plum and sprinkle some sesame seeds. In other box of bento put Salmon with some lemon wedge. In other box, put soy sauce and sugar sauce, fried carrots and the tempura (green pepper, eggplant, sweet potato), while next box is the pickled radish and last box if tofu.
It is really fun to make and prepare Bento Box, in addition to that, every meal should have carbs and protein for the energy needed for the whole day.
Japanese usually have a vegetable because of the nutrients it gives to every meal. Bento Box has been created for a long time, if you haven’t tried preparing this, you should try sometime because it is not just enticing to our eyes but healthy food as well. Happy eating to everyone!!!
